Chamber Accomplishments

We’re proud of all that we do!

Did you know that from 2014-2015, the Wake Forest Area Chamber has helped create 285 jobs in our community through economic development initiatives? These jobs have resulted in a total economic development impact of $12 million dollars. That’s a lot!

The Chamber has also helped local businesses obtain $4.85 million dollars for workforce training for their employees. And we have provided more than 350 monthly referrals to local Chamber businesses which result in continued commerce for the Wake Forest community.

Our Government Affairs Committee annually meets with local, state, and national representatives to discuss the needs of the Wake Forest business community. Did you know that Chamber members can submit committee advocacy requests on their behalf? You can, and you should! We’re here for you!

During the 2014 election, the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce provided full support for the Town of Wake Forest Bond Referendum. This local bond will bring over $60 million dollars’ worth of improvements to local streets, parks, greenways, and recreational departments at a cost of only $25 million.

In the area of education—which is a top priority for the Chamber—we gave $4,000 to local teachers in 2014 through teacher grants. The money for these grants was raised through our fun annual Adult Spelling Bee.  These grants have impacted more than 200 students at four area schools. We also continue to provide annual leadership training to area high school students through our nine-month youth leadership program. Many students who have participated in this program have gone on to receive internships at Ultra Electronics-3 Phoenix, the Town of Wake Forest, and many other local businesses. Many students received scholarships and awards after the program as well.

As you can see, the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce has a lot to be proud of—but it doesn’t stop here! We continue to advocate for you, our members, and to promote continued commerce in Wake Forest. Working together is what it’s all about!
