New Fiscal Year, New Board of Directors

The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce’s new fiscal year started July 1st. With the new fiscal year, comes a new slate of Board of Directors. Terms have ended for Mike Olson with Dynasty Communications, Mike Perry with Michael K. Perry, Esq., Don Bowman with Wake Electric Membership Corp., Jeff WIlliams with Williams Advisory Group, and Dr. Bill Harrison with Parler Properties, LLC. Thank you for your dedicated service to the Chamber!

New members of the Board are Amanda Cochrane with Image 360-North Raleigh, Dawn Daria with Flow Circus, Sheri DeShazo with WakeMed North Family Health & Women’s Hospital, Carter Harrell with Wake Forest Federal, Joe Kimray with B & W Hardware Co., and Tim Whaley with Hartsfield & Nash Insurance Agency.

Dawn Daria co-founded Flow Circus with her husband Paul Miller and is the Chief Education Officer. Dawn was instrumental in developing the curriculum for the Chamber’s Youth Leadership program, and is the founder of Leadership Lit, the Chamber’s book club.

Sheri DeShazo joined WakeMed in 2014 as senior vice president and administrator of WakeMed North Family Health & Women’s Hospital. She has a 25-year career in health care management and is excited to get more involved in the Wake Forest Chamber and community.

Amanda Cochrane is the account executive at Image360 – North Raleigh. She spent 15 years as a graphic designer and art director and now focuses her expertise toward the sales and customer service arena. She has served as a Wake Forest Chamber Ambassador for nearly two years.

Carter Harrell managed the downtown branch of Fidelity Bank for more than five years before moving to Wake Forest Federal Savings and Loan in 2017. An advocate for the downtown community, he served as chair of Wake Forest Downtown’s Board of Directors.

Tim Whaley has been an account executive with Hartsfield and Nash Insurance for five years. He’s served as an Ambassador, is currently on the Government Affairs Committee, and volunteers at almost every Chamber event.

Joe Kimray has been the VP for Operations for B&W Hardware Co. for more than five years. An active Wake Forest Chamber member, he’s served on many committees and volunteered for many events. He currently participates in the Membership Committee.

In addition to our new Board members, Seth Asbill with Edward Jones is our new Chair of the Board of Directors. Jodi Darrohn with Blue Wave Pressure Washing is the chair-elect for fiscal year 2019-2020. Thank you to Rondi Furgason, 2017-2018 Chair of the Board of Directors, for your service to the Chamber.
